Help!

I'm working on my message for Sunday. We're in the midst of 40 Days of Community and I'm talking about how we need each other to grow. I mostly know what I'm going to say, but any ideas or stories could be helpful.

How do others contribute to your growth?

Young Adult Ministry (YAM): Growth

We talked about being connected to the vine tonight. Our spiritual growth is vitally important to being effective believers ... it's the key to lasting fruit. Some questions worth considering...

  • What are effective means of staying close to Jesus for you?
  • What are some specific challenges you face in staying close to Jesus?

When I'm doing my best in staying close with Jesus, I usually make sure I do my devotional time before other things that might eat up my time. For example, if I'm currently addicted to a computer game, I'll make sure I do my devotions before I play. Or my prayer time will be the first thing I do once I get to the office (a pastoral privilege that won't work for most, I know...).

What about you?

Where have you seen God at work around you?

Last night in the college ministry we finished a series on the seven signs of Jesus. We finished up with Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. In this post, I want anyone who was at the study to share what God taught them during the series.

I don't remember being nailed by one passage, in particular, but asking the question each week: "How did God show Himself to you this week?" was always a challenge because I'm often not looking around me to see where He's at work. But I know He is, so I'm encouraged to look more often.

Where do you see God at work in your world?

Or, what did God teach you during the "Seven Signs" series?
